Inter student poisoned for refusing to marry

Two youths allegedly poured some poisonous liquid into the mouth of an Intermediate girl student on Friday in an attempt to kill her when she refused to marry their friend. The incident had occured while Dasari Manasa, the victim, was going to college by an autorickshaw, near Gorantla village. However, she is undergoing treatment at the Guntur Government General Hospital, is normal. According to police, Rajesh and Ashok, had asked Manasa, an Intermediate second year student at St Ann’s College, to marry their friend Sunil while they were travelling in the same autorickshaw. Manasa said that the youths poured some liquid into her mouth when she rejected their proposal to marry Sunil, a lorry driver of the same village. Passersby rescued the girl and shifted her to the hospital. Guntur Rural circle inspector Moses Paul said that the accused are friends with the victim’s brother and are from the same village. The cops launched a search to nab the culprits.
