Govt raises unit cost of Indiramma Houses

The state government has raised the unit cost of Indiramma Houses for OC and BCs from the present Rs 45,000 to Rs 70,000 in rural and from Rs 55,000 to Rs80,000 in urban areas. At a review meeting with officials of the housing department on Tuesday, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the officials to tie up additional funds required. The chief minister has already raised the unit cost of houses for SCs and STs to Rs1 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively.  He said a committee chaired by  joint collectors would be set up to look into the problems of Indiramma houses.
