Other tainted ministers a worried lot

Express News Service

The resignation Sabitha Indra Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao has brought new worry to the remaining three ministers who are on CBI radar in connection with Jagan assets case.

Following chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy asking Sabitha and Dharmana to put in papers as per the direction of the Congress high command, their colleagues Ponnala Lakshmaiah, J Geeta Reddy and Kanna Lakshmi Narayana are reportedly seeking legal opinion.

According to sources, the three ministers are holding secret parleys with some of their senior Cabinet colleagues over phone on how to firm up their defence in Jagan’s case. Lakshmi Narayana even rushed to Delhi on Monday to meet with his Delhi bosses so as to convince them that he had not committed any wrong in issuing the controversial GOs.

Meanwhile, secondary education minister K Parthasarathy, whose conviction in the foreign exchange case was put on hold by the court, is also said to be a worried man.

However, sources said for now no other minister who had received the Supreme Court notice in connection with issuing 26 controversial GOs, will be asked to quit as it would only endanger the state government.
