VIJAYAWADA: Transport minister Sidda Raghava Rao told transport department officials to focus on increasing revenue by providing efficient services to people as the state was facing severe financial problems.
Rao had conducted a flash inspection at Deputy Transport Commissioner (DTC)’s office in Vijayawada Saturday.
Enquiring about the services being provided to people, he also checked the licence application process through online system during his visit.
Speaking on the occasion, the transport minister said that Vijayawada was likely to become the transport hub of AP and that highest level of efficiency should be maintained.
He further added that his inspection came following complaints against local transport officials.
Incharge DTC CHVK Subba Rao, RTO GR Ravindranath and administrative officer T Ramamohana Rao were also present.
