Express News Service

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Tenth Class examinations will be conducted in the old pattern in the present academic year.

The Department of Education has decided to conduct the final examinations of SSC to be held in March, 2015, in the old pattern with 11 papers, for 100 marks in each subjects. There will be no internals.

In fact, the department has introduced reforms in the syllabi of Ninth and Tenth classes and their  examination pattern. The department had earlier reduced the number of papers to nine from 11.

The maximum marks in each subject was fixed at 80 and the remaining 20 marks were allotted for internals which would take into account the student’s performance in terminal examinations, attitude, involvement and attendance.

In view of the protest from all quarters over the sudden change in the examination pattern, the department has finally decided to conduct the examination for 2014-15 batch students in the old format.

However, as the new syllabus is already in force, the question papers will be prepared from the new syllabus.
