VIJAYAWADA: Labour commissioner D Varaprasad asked the officials concerned to initiate measures for ensuring 100 per cent admissions in ITIs and bring down the dropouts to zero per cent. Addressing a regional review meeting with zone 1 and 2 officials here Wednesday, he said that there are 75 government ITIs and 399 private ITIs in the state in which 75,000 students are pursuing various courses.
“In 2011-12, for 15,000 seats in government ITIs, admissions were done only for 61 per cent of them and only 4,000 completed the course with dropouts standing at 38 per cent.
