3 Arrested for Kidnap

VIJAYAWADA: Police arrested three persons for allegedly kidnapping a woman who was a live-in companion of a real estate developer in Hyderabad.

According to police, they found the victim - Chinnammayi - in the custody of the three kidnappers at bus station and took them into custody on Wednesday.

The police said real estate developer Tanneru Venkateswarlu lodged a complaint with them that Chinnammayi was kidnapped on April 26 following which they began looking for the culprits.

Venkateswarlu, who was doing real estate business in Hyderabad, decided to return to his home district of Prakasam recently but his wife refused to join him. Venkateswarlu, nonetheless, shifted to Kandukuru and began constructing a house for himdelf. While doing so, he became acquainted with Chinnammayi.

His wife visited him a couple of times in Kandukuru and learnt that he was having a relationship with Chinnammayi. She began worrying over the possibility of her husband leaving the entire property to Chinnammayi.

Meanwhile, Venkateswarlu fell ill and was admitted to Nagarjuna Hospital here recently. Chinnammayi, who was attending to him, came out in the night on April 26 for dinner when a woman befriended her and offered lift in her car. Another woman, who was already in the car, was asked to get down and Chinnammayi was taken in the car towards Hyderabad.

The women, who got down from the car, went back to hospital and told Venkateswarlu about what happened to Chinnammayi. Venkateswarlu then lodged a complaint with the police. The police are trying to ascertain the motive behind the kidnap.
