25 Rash Driving Cases Booked on Beach Road

VISAKHAPATNAM : In a special drive against rash driving, a special team by city traffic police booked cases against 25 youngsters on the Beach Road Saturday and Sunday night. The youngsters were counselled along with their parents at the Police Commissionerate here Monday.

After credible information that youngsters have been driving rashly on the Beach Road (RK Beach to Bheemili stretch) in a zig-zag manner, police formed a special team and conducted patrol drives on the Beach Road Saturday and Sunday night, where they booked cases against youngsters, particularly college goers.

Reportedly, police have booked 10 cases on Saturday and 15 cases on Sunday night, which includes six cars and 19 motorbikes. Responding to this, ADCP (Traffic) K Mahendra Patrudu said, “We have learned that these youngsters are indulging in some kind of pre-planned drives. We are investigating the ulterior motive behind this. We will continue the special drives and take strict action against those involved.” He also announced that the speed limit to be followed on the Beach Road is 30 kmph.
