HYDERABAD: A fresh controversy has erupted between Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) and Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) over sharing of pre-bifurcation record documents.

The TSPSC, which is now reportedly working on its first ever yet to be released recruitment notification to fill vacancies in panchayat raj department blamed APPSC for holding all the old documents with it and causing delay in issuing the job notification. The TSPSC employees’ association on Thursday staged a dharna in front of the commission building and demanded the APPSC to immediately provide soft copies of the old documents.

Anjaneyulu, president of the TSPSC Employees Association said, ‘’We can’t release any job notification without the old documents. Important files relating to zonal roster points, service matter and the old GOs are still with the APPSC.” He further said that the AP employees have the control over the administration section where all the files were kept. During the protest, the Telangana employees locked the section and said they would not open it till AP agrees to give the documents.

Though AP and Telangana have formed their own public service commissions, they are functioning from the same building and the space allocation is yet to be done. The TSPSC alleged that AP employees still hold  authority over properties of the commission and TS has been denied access to the library and stationary. Maddi Venkateshwarlu, a TS employee said, “There is no equipment for us, many of us still don’t have proper work space.”

Citing the AP Reorganisation Act, the Telangana employees said, both the commissions must share the common documents according to GO no 194 by the united AP government. All the institutes under the 10th schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act must create soft copies of all the documents and share the information. The TSPSC alleged that despite several reminders, APPSC didn’t share the soft copies of documents which were scanned right after the bifurcation of the state.
