MVGR Inks Pact with Engineering Co

VIZIANAGARAM: MVGR College of Engineering, Vizianagaram, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Adroitec Engineering Solutions limited. Principal KVL Raju and Adroitec Engineering Solutions Pvt Ltd regional manager Sunil Maheswari exchanged the MoU papers in the college here Monday.

According to the authorities, the two-year MoU aims at facilitating industry-institution interaction for technical advancement, developing academic and industrial relationships and supporting collaborative research. The company would also offer structured training in Windchill 10.2, a PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) platform.

Speaking about the PLM industry, Sunil Maheswari said that research indicates that the platform will reach US$ 50 billion by 2017.

As the government is expected to raise the foreign investment limit from 26 per cent to 49 per cent in the defence sector, the country is likely to witness a surge of investments, he informed and added that this training and exposure will help the students prepare themselves to meet this challenge.

Discussing the MoU, Sunil Maheswari said that it would be mutually beneficial in terms of taking the best advantage of institute-industry interface, where students will benefit by undergoing training and updating themselves in the PLM sector. Meanwhile, KVL Raju stressed the need for efficient and high-skilled workforce in this competitive world.

He also said that establishing a PLM centre of excellence in the college would help the college stand out professionally, and aid students in improving their job performance.

Vice-principal (Academics) YMC Sekhar, Research and Development dean R Ramesh, Mechanical Department head S Adinarayana, coordinator and programme manager N Ravi Kumar were present.
