Prelims of Techniche 2015 to be Held on July 12 in AU

VISAKHAPATNAM:The dream-fest for every engineering student, Techniche-2015 hosted by IIT Guwahati, is providing a chance for the local students to take part in Escalade- an All India Robotics Championship this year. Students hoping to compete must qualify the prelims, which is scheduled to be held on July 12 at Andhra University campus.

Organisers of the much-hyped fest said that as part of the preliminary event, the students will need to design a manual bot which should be able to put a colour block in the respective colour pit.

The competition is so designed that even an enthusiast with little or no prior experience in Robotics can participate and learn the methods of modern day technology. The top six teams would be announced as winners from each centre and these would qualify to participate in the main round of Escalade to be held at IIT Guwahati from September 3 to September 6 this year.

Details about the final round would be revealed only after the prelims, and a prize money of Rs 80,000 would be awarded to the winners. The participation fee for the event is Rs 200 per team, and students from all colleges and schools with not more than four members in one team are fit to participate.

Apart from participating in the event, the teams would also get a chance to witness Techniche 2015 at IIT Guwahati, which comprises of various lectures, competitions, exhibitions and cultural events.
