80 AU Colleges Now under AKNU Purview

 RAJAHMUNDRY:  As many as 80 professional colleges in East and West Godavari districts will be under the purview of  Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU)from this academic year. Of them, 42 are B.Ed colleges, three are M.Ed colleges and four are B.P.Ed colleges. Earlier, they were   under the control of Andhra University (AU). AU registrar VM Rao on Monday issued orders making these institutions affiliate colleges of AKNU.

In fact, AU wanted to transfer the colleges to AKNU from the next academic year. However, with AKNU in-charge vice-chancellor Prof. E N Dhanamjaya Rao arguing that his university would stand to lose `10 year, AU has agreed to transfer 80 colleges this academic year and the remaining colleges from the next academic year.

Speaking to TNIE, AKNU incharge vice-chancellor Prof. EN Dhanamjaya Rao said affiliation committees would be sent to the respective colleges and the remaining PG colleges under AU purview would be under the control of AKNU, he said.
