VISAKHAPATNAM:The police Friday arrested the kingpins behind land grabbing cases in Madhurwada - P Ramgopal Reddy of Hyderabad, Mallikanti Malyadri, Bora Suri Ramu alias Suri Reddy, Ravada Ramakrishna alias Velama Krishna and K Nagavarma for trespassing and grabbing prime land in Kommadi area with fake documents. Two of the accused, M Malyadri and V Krishna already have rowdy sheets opened against them.
Addressing a press conference here Friday, DCP (Zone-1 Law and Order) C Trivikram Varma said one PLN Raju, who owned over 350 acres of land in Madhurwada, adopted his brother’s son as he was not blessed with one and gave his property to him. The adopted son divided the property into four parts to his brothers to avoid land ceiling. The brothers sold their lands before 1985.
Later, R Sambasiva Rao purchased about 1.3 acres from Hari Prasad during that period in survey No. 2 in Kommadi. He divided the land into 15 plots and sold nine of them and retained six in his wife’s name.
In 2011, accused Malakanti Malyadri trespassed one of the plot of Sambasiva Rao claiming to have purchased the land from Pentakota Chandrasekhar, whose petition was dismissed by the courts, following which Sambasiva Rao lodged a complaint in PM Palem police station. The police registered a case against Malyadri and arrested him, and the case is still pending.
In 2012, Sambasiva Rao died. Taking advantage, Yella Krishna Murthy and Sudheer Raju, who were sheeters, entered into the land by claiming that they purchased it from PLN Raju, getting into a dispute with Malyadri. Krishna Murthy lodged a complaint against Malyadri and a case was registered. However, the trio colluded with each other and tried to grab the land of Sambasiva Rao, attracting a complaint from Sambasiva Rao’s son R Raviteja. Another person, one of the plot owners, Udaya Bhaskari Devi also lodged a complaint against Krishna Murthy and Sudheer Raju and registered a case, which is also pending.
Taking advantage of the innocent plot owners, Malyadri grabbed some plots and constructed MM Paradise with 40 flats in about 1,600 s.yds. and sold them. During construction, Malyadri created fake occupancy certificates by forging the signatures of GVMC authorities, leading to them lodging complaints and cases being registered following which Malyadri was arrested again. That case was also pending, Trivikrama Varma said.
Against this backdrop, one P Ramgopal Reddy of Hyderabad entered into the disputed plots by producing the GPA from PLN Raju, including constructed portion of MM Paradise and showed all the land as plain area. He also produced a fake land possession certificate from the revenue department. Later, Ramgopal Reddy gave agreement for 1,600 s.yds to Malyadri who constructed MM Foundations and sold the flats. Ramgopal Reddy grabbed the land and fixed boards on his name and arranged security. He also registered 1,700 s.yds under the names of three persons.
Recently, one of the original owners of the plots, Dwaraka Rani, who purchased the plot from Sambasiva Rao, was getting the plot levelled when Sudheer Raju threatened her and trespassed into her land. Rani registered a case and Sudheer Raju was arrested. Sambasiva Rao’s son R Raviteja also lodged a complaint with the PM Palem police.
The DCP has said that during investigation, all the facts were established and said that illegal transactions were knowingly carried out by the accused. The cops identified eight more persons involved in the cases and said that they are yet to be nabbed.
