ONGOLE: Four revenue department employees, including a tahsildar, have been placed under suspension by Prakasam district collector GSRKR Vijaya Kumar on Monday for issuing pattadar passbooks to ineligible persons.
Their names are: Konkanamitla mandal tahsildar E Chandravati, the then revenue inspector SK Samimulla, VRO I Chalama Reddy and surveyor B Srinu. They allegedly issued 62 passbooks for 559 acre land to ineligible persons belonging to Kanakanamitla mandal. This led to a major land dispute and resulted in the murder of one K Narasimha Reddy, 32, belonging to Putlurivaripalem on Feb 23.
The collector issued orders of suspension basing on the report submitted by sub-Collector K Mallikharjun.
