Cell Phone Thieves Nabbed

VISAKHAPATNAM: Acting on a tip-off, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel arrested a three-member inter-state gang and recovered 30 smart mobiles phones of various brands worth `5 lakh here Monday. Police said that the trio was a gang from Jharkand, which has been looting mobile phones from passengers at trains, buses and few public places and selling them in black.

According to Visakhapatnam RPF inspector B Ramu, the trio came to Visakhapatnam on March 26 on East Coast. Police said that they stayed in a lodge near the station and have been looting mobile phones from people at busy spots in the city such as the bus and Railway stations, markets and few other places in the city.

Police said that the CCTV cameras in the railway station helped them identify the accused. The arrested were handed over to the Government Railway Police for further investigation.
