TIRUPATI:Providing a hassle-free darshan, accommodation, tonsuring and distribution of ladoo prasadam to the multitude of visiting pilgrims is our top priority, said TTD executive officer D Sambasiva Rao.
Sambasiva Rao told mediamen here on Monday that the TTD brought revolutionary changes in its functioning by adopting transparent mechanisms in providing darshan, accommodation and tonsuring besides ladoo prasadam distribution to the scores of pilgrims.
“We have streamlined the advance online booking system for Rs 300 and Rs 50 tickets, enhanced transparency in allotting accommodation by making continuous announcements in Tirumala about vacancy of rooms every hour, improved the PACs, introduced new system of allotting additional ladoos within the compartments
for the convenience of the pilgrims and revamped the entire system in ‘Kalyana Katta’ tonsuring area as well. We are contemplating allotting ladoo tokens through online itself for those who book Rs 300 and Rs 50 tickets online on payment of an additional charge of Rs 50 for each category for two ladoos”, he maintained.
Elaborating the developmental programmes in Tirupati, the EO said, “We have now focused on improving the amenities in BIRRD and SVIMS hospitals and, sanctioned Rs 25 crore and Rs 35 crore respectively towards the development of these two hospitals. We are also planning to bring a Tertiary Eye Care Hospital in Tirupati and negotiating with top-three eye hospitals in the country,” he added.

Action has been taken against three regular staff and two contract employees, who were allegedly found guilty in vigilance enquiry for having involved in ladoo token scandal, TTD executive officer D Sambasiva Rao has said.
