ONGOLE: Three persons were killed and four others severely injured in a ghastly accident at Pandillapalli village of Bestavaripeta mandal in Prakasam district on Wednesday.
According to police, the driver of a Scorpio vehicle going towards Anantapur from Vijayawada hit a two-wheeler on the roadside and lost control of the vehicle. The biker was identified as Ch Krishna Reddy (26) who died on the spot along with two others travelling in Scorpio identified as Ch Venkata Narayana (40) and Somasekhar (38). Krishna Reddy was from Pandillapalli while the other two victims were from Gorantla in Anantapur district.
Four others who suffered injuries were rushed to RIMS Ongole, where their condition is said to be serious. Those travelling in Scorpio had gone to Vijayawada to get a confirmation of seats in educational institutions for their children and were returning home when the accident happened.
