VIJAYAWADA: APTDC’s Vijayawada division has announced special picnic packages for ‘Karthika Masam’ at Bhavani Island and at Suryalanka beach resorts.
Addressing mediapersons here Thursday, ATPDC Vijayawada divisional manager VVS Gangaraju said they are offering three new packages for Bhavani Island which include to and fro boat ride to the island resort, lunch and cultural programmes.
The first package is priced at RS 210 for adults and RS 150 for children aged below eight years offers veg ‘thali’ that will consists of ‘veg-dum biryani’, ‘raitha’, white rice, dal, veg curry, veg fry, ‘sambar’, ‘rasam’, papad, pickle, sweet, hot and curd. In the second package priced at RS 310 for adults and RS 200 for children will offer green salad, paneer curry and ice cream in addition to the items mentioned in the first package. There is third package that will offer breakfast and lunch and is priced at RS 400 per person.
Similar packages are being offered at Suryalanka Beach Resorts in Guntur for RS 175 person in first package and RS 225 per person in second package which includes breakfast and lunch. “Every year, during the ‘Karthika Masam’, it is normal for Telugu people to go for ‘Vanabhojanam’ and spend some quality time with family and friends. On the occasion, it also becomes a community get together. We are offering them a chance to enjoy the verdant beauty of river island of Krishna and scenic view of sea in pristine Suryalanka Beach,” Gangaraju said.
When pointed out that approach to Berm Park in Bhavanipuram has been closed in view of the construction activity for Kanaka Durga Flyover, he said now they are offering boat ride to Bhavani Island from three ghats - Seethanagaram, Durga Ghat and Berm Park (for those coming from Hyderabad direction, as vehicular traffic there is no limited, only the one going toward Hyderabad has been restricted). “There will be no additional charge or additional expenditure on our part,” he maintained.
At Bhavani Island, new adventure sports package is being offered for RS 300 and it will contain water roller, rifle shooting, archery, low rope course, wine traverse, zip line, climbing wall, spider web.
ATV ride for RS 200, Net Cricket for RS 50 (2 overs) and RS 100 (five overs). There are also wide variety of watercraft that can be hired for riding the water of River Krishna.
APTDC Vijayawada division, which had netted RS 27 lakh revenue on food packages and RS 20 lakh on boat rides during Karthika Masam previous year, expects a 20 per cent growth in the revenues and visitors.
