SRIKAKULAM: A fisherman was grievously injured after three bears attacked him on the outskirts of Gunapalli village in Vajrapukotturu in Srikakulam Sunday morning. The injured has been identified as Ch Thata Rao, a resident of Gunapalli.
Thata Rao was on his way to the beach at around 5 am Sunday, and was passing a grave yard when all of a sudden three bears came out of the bushes and attacked him, causing grievous injuries.
Sources said that after sometime, a few fishermen saw Thata Rao lying in a pool of blood. They rushed him to the Palasa government hospital. The doctors, after administering first aid, referred him to KGH in Visakhapatnam. Thata Rao’s condition is said to be stable now. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
