Express News Service

HYDERABAD: A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday granted two more weeks for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to complete the technical analysis of mobile phone call data, FSL reports, photographs and ballistic expert report in the case of Seshachalam encounter.

The bench was dealing with petitions seeking registering of murder cases against the police personnel involved in the encounter in the Seshachalam forest in Chittoor district where 20 alleged red sanders smugglers from Tamil Nadu were killed on April 7, and for constitution of a fresh SIT to probe the case.

During the hearing, the counsel for SIT sought more time as they are yet to receive reports from the experts relating to ballistic, forensic science and call data.

Granting two weeks time, the bench told the counsel that it will take a decision after review of the status report on the next date of hearing. The matter was posted to Oct 13.
