VISAKHAPATNAM: THE Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught a woman sub-registrar red-handed while accepting a bribe Rs 40,000 here on Saturday.
ACB DSP Laxmipathi said one Dadi Sreerama Krishna from Visakhapatnam had approached the sub-registrar office in Vizianagaram to get his land at Cheelluru registered. Sub-registrar P Bhavani demanded Rs 1 lakh as bribe to get the registration done. However, after negotiations, the deal was settled at Rs 40,000 through the document writer B Srinivasa Rao. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, the ACB DSP, along with his team, caught the sub-registrar red-handed when she was receiving the amount at her office.
