VIJAYAWADA: Decks have been cleared for the construction of temporary secretariat at Velagapudi in Thullur mandal of Guntur district with AP State Environment Impact Assessment Authority and Ministry of Environment and Forests giving their clearance for the project.
The clearances were obtained by the government on February 9 after the state appraisal committee experts reviewed the situation on January 23 and February 6 and made recommendations to this effect.
The secretariat will come up in 45.129 acres in six blocks. The office of the CM and legislative assembly would also be located on the premises. The built up area would be 58,655.43 sq metres of which 23,587 sq metres would be left for greenery.The buildings will have solar panels on the roofs. There will be enough parking space for employees as well as the visitors, an official press release said.
