Tummalapalli Kalakshetram to Get a Complete Makeover

VIJAYAWADA:  As part of city beautification and improvement of infrastructure, the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation has decided to renovate Tummalapalli Kalakshetram to accommodate 1,000 people in the hall.

Municipal Commissioner G Veerapandian, who visited Tummalapalli Kalakshetram on Wednesday, discussed the renovation plans with the authorities. He said the existing sound system and lighting system will be replaced with the new ones. He suggested the existing dais be moved back five meters to give way for a row of executive chairs. The renovated auditorium will also feature an LED screen and a projector screens.

It was also decided to construct a two-storey multi-purpose building in the open space behind the auditorium. The ground floor will feature rooms to be used for green room and waiting halls, while the first floor will have guest rooms and the top floor will have a big conference hall to seat about 1000 people.

VMC chief engineer (incharge) MA Shakoor, city planner Pradeep Kumar, executive engineer PVK Bhaskar and others were present.
