VIJAYAWADA: On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the Ayyappa Swamy Devasthanam Trust of Gollapudi is organising week-long celebrations from May 11 to 18.
Temple head priest A Madhu Namboodri told mediamen here Saturday that the celebrations will begin with ‘Maha Ganapathi Homam’ at 5 am on May 11. The other rituals include ‘Shaneshwara Homam’, ‘Bhagavathi Puja’, ‘Gayatri Homam’, ‘Mrutyunjaya Homam’, ‘Sri Ayyappa Swamyvari Mula Mantra Homam’, ‘Astadravya Maha Ganapathi Homam’,’101 Kalasabhisehkham’ adn ‘Swarna Kalasabhisekham’.
The rituals will be performed to the processional deity by the Namboodris from Kerala. ‘Annadanam’ on May 18 will mark the conclusion of the celebrations. Devotees who wish to participate in the special prayers should follow strict dress code i.e., dhoti.
