TIRUMALA: A record three lakh heads has been tonsured by 1,500 barbers including 277 women barbers during the ongoing annual Srivari Brahmotsavams in Tirumala from day one till October 8, said Venkataiah, Dy EO, Kalyana Katta. Addressing the media on Sunday on the tonsuring services provided to devotees, he said that the main kalyana katta, tonsuring centres in PAC-1, PAC-2, SV rest houses functioned round the clock during the period.
“We have provided quality materials such as blades, dettol, sandal paste and face mask to each barber”, he said.
