VIZIANAGARAM: Union Civil Aviation minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju donated 20 E-book reader worth `2.5 lakh, bought with MPLAD funds, to Gurajada Central Library in Vizianagaram on Tuesday.
Addressing the students, Gajapathi Raju spoke on the importance of having a tab for the students and the way it helps to improve skills for the unemployed.
He asked officials to go for avenue plantation in Dwarapudi village for protecting the environment as a part of Manam-Vanam programme.
Later he visited high schools and distributed 10 e-book tabs worth `1 lakh to the students and asked the headmasters of the schools to teach the students on how to make proper use of technology. “We have completed construction of 70 per cent of toilets and will make efforts to develop Dwarapudi village in all possible ways with the MPLAD funds,” said Gajapathi Raju.
RO plant inaugurated
He inaugurated an RO plant, costing `1.75 lakh, under the MPLADS in Korukondapalem mandal. Later, he spent time with students at Korukondapalem.
