Telugu Yuvatha leader P Hari Babu arrested for cheating

According to the police, Hari Babu collected huge amounts of money from the unemployed youths by promising them jobs using his high level political connections.

GUNTUR: Mangalagiri police on Friday arrested Telugu Yuvatha leader P Hari Babu for cheating unemployed youth. According to the police, Hari Babu who participated in the TDP programmes attended by the Chief Minister and other ministers as an activist, collected huge amounts of money from the unemployed youths by promising them jobs using his high level political connections. 


CI B Brahmaiah said K Ashok Babu of Mangalagiri lodged a complaint with the police stating that Hari Babu failed to provide him a job after collecting `1.5 lakh and he did not return the money. Five other victims also lodged complaints with the police against him. He went incognito to evade arrest after knowing that cheating cases were filed against him. 


The victims who spotted him along with his followers in a restaurant, tried to catch him. But the Telugu Yuvatha leader took to heels. They chased Hari Babu and caught hold of him. Later, he was handed over to the police.
