Parks in Eluru to be developed for recreation

ELURU: The Happy Sunday programme was organised on a grand scale at Subbamma Devi Municipal High School in the city. Speaking after inaugurating the programme,  Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan said ‘Happy Sunday’ is being organised under the aegis of Eluru Municipal Corporation to increase the happiness index of people.

She said Janmabhoomi Park in the city would be developed at a cost of `50 lakh. Three other parks in the city would also be developed at a cost of `71.30 lakh to provide recreation to people, she said. Students presented a variety of cultural programmes.

Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan and others participated in a tug of war along with others. MLC Ramu Surya Rao, EMC Commissioner Y Saye Srikanth, school headmistress K Madhavilatha and others participated in it.
