KURNOOL: Perhaps, Nandyal has never seen an Independence Day as colourful as the one on Tuesday. Eye on votes, political parties made a beeline to celebrate the 70th Independence Day in Nandyal.

YSRC president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy unfurled the tricolour near the residence of party leader Malkireddy Raja Gopal Reddy at Bommalasatram and Congress State president N Raghuveera Reddy hoisted the national flag at the party office at in Padmavathi Nagar. However, the TDP leaders were busy with public meetings.

After unfurling the National flag, Jagan continued his seventh day of road show in Nandyal. In various public meetings, Jagan continued his attack on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, alleging the “cunning nature” of the TDP chief and his inefficiency to extend good governance to the people.
He said people were happy during Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s rule. To welcome the “golden era and lead a life in peace and prosperity”, Jagan appealed to the people to cast their votes to Silpa Mohan Reddy. He assured the people that his Nava Rathnalu scheme will benefit one and all.

After the party’s I-day function, Raghuveera Reddy said that people were observing the political dramas of both the TDP and YSRC. The ruling TDP has no spine to ask the Centre about special status for AP, special package for Rayalaseema, steel plant for Kadapa and others which were drafted in the Bifurcation Act.

Naidu is in the grip of fear thanks to the cash-for-vote scam,” Raghuveera Reddy alleged. Jagan is supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi only for his personal benefits, he added.
