An Indigo Airlines flight from Visakhapatnam to Bangalore did not take off from Visakhapatnam airport, after its pilot allegedly noticed that a bird stuck in the propeller.

VISAKHAPATNAM: An Indigo Airlines flight from Visakhapatnam to Bangalore did not take off from Visakhapatnam airport, after its pilot allegedly noticed that a bird stuck in the propeller of the flight on Wednesday morning.

All the 178 passengers on board have been stuck in Airport.

According to sources, the flight was to take off from Vizag airport at 7.50 am but the pilot decided otherwise when he saw a bird stuck in the propeller.

Sources said that technical staff from Delhi and Chennai are yet to reach Vizag to sort out the problem. Meanwhile the airlines is yet to arrange any alternative flight for the passengers.

When contacted Visakhapatnam Airport Director Pratap Reddy, said that he cannot make a statement since the issue does not come under the airport management.

Since the problem was with the aircraft, the airlines should know better, he said. Despite repeated attempts, airlines could not be contacted.
