VISAKHAPATNAM (AP): Selfie craze has proved dearly for a youngster who suffered severe injuries at
Araku railway station in Visakhapatnam Agency on Monday.
The victim identified as John from Vizag, suffered burn injuries when he came in contact with high-tension electrical wires, at the local railway station.
John, a student of Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (famously known as GITAM) in Visakhapatnam reportedly went to Araku with his friends to enjoy the festival holidays. While returning on
Monday, they arrived at the railway station where the victim risked his life by climbing on top of a goods train coach which was parked at the railway station. Even as he was taking his selfie, he came in contact with the high-tension wires and fell off the coach, with severe burn injuries.
His friends and locals rushed John to a nearby hospital where his condition is reportedly critical.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
