The Chief Ministers’ panel on demonetisation and digital payment systems headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be presenting its interim report to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 24.
Naidu, who held a review meeting with officials at his residence in Undavalli on Sunday, directed them to submit data of cashless transactions and digital payments after demonetisation. They were also directed to prepare a report on digital payments being adopted by other States. Bankers were directed on the occasion to submit status report on the digital transactions by Monday afternoon.
The Chief Minister, who had continuously monitored the impact of demonetisation in the State post demonetisation of high value currency notes of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500, had spurred the officials and bankers to improve digital transactions in the State.
AP takes the lead in cashless payments
According to officials, Andhra Pradesh registered 41 per cent digital transactions and is ahead of other States. Naidu wants the officials to initiate measures for further improving it and ensure the State registers 60 per cent of digital transactions at the earliest.
