VIJAYAWADA: Yet another intermediate student ended his life due to exam pressure in Vijayawada. The first-year intermediate student of Sri Chaitanya College, Anam Subba Reddy (16), jumped off the fifth floor of the college building at Gudavalli on outskirts of Vijayawada on Monday.
According to Patamata police, Subba Reddy appeared for the exam on Monday. In the afternoon, he attended the study hours as usual for preparation of the next examination. “Preliminary investigation revealed he feared he would get less marks in today’s exam.
We suspect that he took the extreme step under exam pressure but we will ascertain the exact reasons,” a police officer involved in the investigation said.
Subba Reddy was a native of Kamalapuram in Kadapa and belongs to an agricultural family.
The body was shifted to the Government General hospital of Vijayawada for post mortem.
This is the second suicide in last three days in the region. Another student, A Mounika had committed suicide on March 3.
