VIJAYAWADA/ONGOLE: Four days after the murder of Narra Sasikala and her son Anish Sai in New Jersey, there is still no clarity on the progress with regard to the investigation or any other information on when the bodies would be brought back to India.

As there has been no word from the Indian Embassy or government authorities, Sasikala’s elderly parents have no option but to rely on newspapers and vernacular television channels for information about their loved ones who are no more.

Similar is the fate of the parents of Narra Hanumantha Rao, Sasikala’s husband, in Thimmarajupalem of Parchur mandal in Prakasam district. Except for some information passed on by the members of the Telugu Association of North America in coordination with the Indian Embassy in the US, there has been no communication on the fate of Hanumantha Rao or the bodies of Sasikala and Anish Sai.

“Despite our repeated pleas, there has been no communication from the Centre or the State governments so far. We are not aware whether the postmortem has been conducted or when the bodies will be handed over to us,” Sasikala’s father told Express. Whatever information the family receives  is now through the media.

Hanumantha Rao’s relative Murali from Thimmarajupalem told reporters the techie has not spoken to his parents since he was questioned.

Hanumantha Rao had claimed that he found Sasikala and their seven-year-old son Anish Sai in a pool of blood upon his returning from work at their rented flat.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy to look into the matter. The Minister said the US authorities were expected to give information on the progress in the probe on Monday.

“Police are collecting information from cellphones and email accounts of the couple for investigation,” he said. It may take another four-five days to get the bodies released from police custody.
