Maid at film director Kodandarami Reddy’s home in Hyderabad ends life

HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old woman domestic help, Jayasri, who worked at residence of veteran Tollywood director Kodandarami Reddy, allegedly committed suicide in Jubilee Hills on Friday. The victim was reportedly depressed over her family’s poverty as her mother too worked as a maid.

The domestic help was a native of Kattamuru village of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. She was living at the out house on the premises of the Tollywood director’s residence in Jubilee Hills.  The Jubilee Hills Inspector S Venkat Reddy said that Jayasri who was in depression due to family issues had committed suicide by hanging herself to ceiling when she was alone. When the incident took place, Kodandanda Rami Reddy was out. The body was sent for postmortem and a case of suicide was registered.  
“After mother left from the city, Jayasri was depressed about her family and financial issues. She used to discuss about her family problems with the Director’s family members,’’ Inspector said.
