Shilparamam to come up with Mega park in Amaravati

VIJAYAWADA: Shilparamam Art, Crafts and Cultural society is planning to set up Shilparamam Parks in all 13 districts in the State in accordance with the State government’s policy. Apart from that, a Mega Shilparamam is also set to come up in Amaravati capital region. The society has already established parks in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Kadapa, Pulivendula, Anantapur and Puttaparthi.

Three Shilparamam Parks are already under construction at Vizianagaram, Kakinada and Guntur. The society is also aiming to set up parks in Srikakulam, West Godavari, Krishna, Prakasam, Nellore Kurnool. The society which plans to set up a Mega Shilparamam park in Amaravati has sent a proposal to the State government, requesting sanction for the park and allotment of 50 acres of land in the capital region.

The park will have unique facilities like training centres for artisans, dormitories, hostels, product and souvenir development centre, production- cum-live-demonstration centre, workshops besides food courts, artisan stalls, multi-purpose halls, amphitheatres, village and tribal museums, entertainment zones for children, water parks, and other features, similar to the ones in other organisations in the State.

Keeping in tune with the changing tastes of the public and the ever-changing market trends, the society has also started renovation works in the existing Shilparamam parks by hiring the services of reputed consultants. Tie-ups with National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFT), National Institute of Design (NIT) and other institutes for product and design development of handicrafts and handlooms and for souvenir and gift items etc is also in the pipeline.
