GUNTUR: Mallika Spine Centre performed a rare surgery on a 14-year-old girl on October 24 through computer navigation and spine neuromonitoring system. Renuka Devi, suffered spine paralysis and was unable to walk when she was admitted to the hospital.

In 2012, the girl suffered spinal problems and was operated at a hospital in Kakinada. She was normal initially. But, later her spinal card started bending and she became crippled. Through Spine Computer Navigation operation, 19 screws and two rods were fixed to her spine. It took 8 long hours for the doctors to perform the complicated surgery.
