Andhra Pradesh: Maoists killed tribal after suspecting him as a police informer

According to sources, a group of Maoists picked up Lova Raju from his village in the wee hours of Monday and then killed him.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Maoists allegedly killed a tribal at Gilibandha village in Chintapalle distict suspecting him as a police informer.

The deceased has been identified as Gompa Lova Raju (30), a businessman from Annavaram village in Chintapalle distict.

According to sources, a group of Maoists picked up Lova Raju from his village in the wee hours of Monday and then killed him.

The Gilibandha village, where the murder took place, comes under Annavaram Police station limits.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Chintappale P Anil confirmed the murder and said that since the crime occurred in an interior part which is a Maoist hotbed, their teams which started in the morning are yet to reach there. “The body is expected to be brought to Chintapalle by this evening for a postmortem examination,” he added.
