Woman gangster arrested by Chittoor district police

TIRUPATI:  A widow, who turned gangster, at Madanapalle, was arrested, on Friday, by Chittoor district police. “Interestingly, she is the first woman who was arrested under the PD Act,” SV Rajasekhar Babu, SP, said. He said that a special drive against rowdy-sheeters in the district particularly in Madanapalle, was launched and many times they were counselled, but in vain. On Friday, Setti Sujatha Rani (49) along with five other rowdy-sheeters - P Narey Gangadhari (33), B Madhukar (26), M Rammohan (34), Ragineni Raghupathy (40), and Devi Varaprasad (23) were arrested under the PD Act. The police said that Sujata Rani of Angallu village in Kurabala Kota mandal, was an accused in two murder cases.
