80-year-old Tirupati beggar with Rs 1.4 lakh fortune woman dies

The 80-year-old beggar woman who had amassed a fortune of `1.4 lakh, but lost half of it to demonetisation, died on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment at SVR Ruia Government General Hospital.

TIRUPATI: The 80-year-old beggar woman who had amassed a fortune of Rs 1.4 lakh, but lost half of it to demonetisation, died on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment at SVR Ruia Government General Hospital. She was found fainted at Kari Mariyamma temple on Friday night and was admitted to Ruia Hospital by the police. During her rescue, the police had found large cash with her. 

After completing the formalities, Tirupati West CI G Srinivasulu handed over the body to her brother Manikya Chary and other relatives. The shopkeepers at the temple, where she used to beg, donated some amount for her last rites.
