GUNTUR: In order to prevent accidents by auto-rickshaws carrying schoolchildren, the traffic police conducted a special drive in the city on Monday and registered 30 cases for violation of norms.
DSP Ch Papa Rao said the drive was to make sure that the children commute to their school safely and check road accidents in the city.
He said the police observed that five auto drivers were found to have overloaded their vehicles. Some of them were found to be driving without licences and proper vehicle documents.
