Robbers who targeted women held in Guntur

GUNTUR: Guntur Urban Police have arrested two persons accused in stealing and vehicle-lifting cases, and recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh, two two-wheelers and mobile phones from them.

Addressing a press conference in Guntur on Saturday, CCS DSP D Prasad said the accused, Chintalapudi Sagar from Piduguralla mandal and Gapati Gopi from Telangana, conducted recce of an area and targeted elderly women staying alone in their houses, adding they were involved in three such incidents in Guntur district.

In one of the cases, they stole jewelleries from a woman at Tangeda of Dachepalli on September 8; they stole a motorcycle from its distracted owner.
