GUNTUR: A Telugu Yuvatha leader got injured while burning the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest against corruption within CBI, in Guntur on Thursday. The TDP leaders, along with activists, took out a rally and later gathered at Lodge Centre.

The protesters poured petrol on the PM’s effigy and lit it, but the flames suddenly spread and singed Telugu Yuvatha leader S Chaitanya, who got injured, while trying to sidestep the flames. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Guntur district party president and Vinukonda MLA GV Anjaneyulu alleged that the BJP intentionally conducting Income-Tax raids on TDP leaders in the State to tarnish the party’s image.
Stating that the Centre-State relations were at its lowest ebb, he said that the Prime Minister never helped the State.

Furthermore, BJP leaders were spreading a false propaganda against the ruling government, which is objectionable.

Zilla Parishad chairperson Sk Johnymoon, NTR Mirchi Yard chairman M Subba Rao, Telugu Yuvatha leader R Saikrishna and other leaders participated in the protest.
