Krishna district police body condemns Perni Nani’s remarks

The association explained that the police department functions independently and has nothing to do with politics.

VIJAYAWADA: Taking strong exception to the controversial remarks of YSRCP leader and former minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) and his son Perni Krishna Murthy (Kittu) against the duty police, Krishna district police officers association condemned the remarks and warned that stringent action would be initiated against them.

Addressing a press conference, association president G Jayapaul has found fault with the behaviour of YSRCP leaders and explained that demolition of a house in Kobbarithota of Machilipatnam was undertaken as per the rules and police were asked for protection.

The association explained that the police department functions independently and has nothing to do with politics. “Public representatives need to understand the facts and shall not take law into their hands. The police department is committed to the safety and security of the public and will not encourage such defaming and demeaning remarks,” the association president Jayapaul said.

Earlier in the day, Perni Kittu created a flutter arguing with the duty police in the Kobbarithota area following a demolition of a house for carrying out construction works without any necessary permissions.
