Godavari Delta safe despite low flood inflows

Around 50 TMC of water has already been supplied to the delta against a seasonal requirement of about 80 TMC.

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Despite below-normal rainfall and reduced inflows into the Godavari due to Super El Niño conditions, there is no cause for concern over irrigation for the 10.13 lakh acres under the Godavari Delta, Engineer-in-Chief (Water Resources) K Narasimha Murthy said on Saturday.

He said the government was giving top priority to drinking water while ensuring adequate irrigation.
