IPL racket busted from a five-star hotel in outer Delhi

The accused were allegedly betting on the final match of IPL 2017 between Rising Pune Supergiant and Mumbai Indians, says cops.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi police crime branch has arrested 9 people from a five star hotel situated in Outer Delhi for allegedly betting on the final match of IPL 2017 between Rising Pune Supergiant and Mumbai Indians.

"They were doing digital gambling on live match of IPL. When we raided the room of the five star hotel found cash and 10 mobile phones. So far 9 accused have been arrested including 4 bookies," a Delhi Police officer said.

According to the sources, the gang members used to visit the cities where IPL matches were scheduled. 

Interestingly, from same area local district police also arrested 7 people for gambling on IPL marches on Saturday.

"We have recovered video recorder, CCTVs , 8 mobile phones from the spot. Accused were betting on a live match of IPL. Two boxes have been recovered and soon we will arrest more persons in the case," police officer said.
