Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal conducts surprise inspection at Burari Transport Authority

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday made a surprise visit to Burari Transport Authority and said that strict action will be taken against any employees, including officials, involved in irregularities.

Mr Kejriwal, during his visit interacted with the people. They told the Chief Minister if they come through a broker, works are done quickly or else it would be left pending for months.

Talking to reporters after the inspection, Mr Kejriwal said that strict action will be taken against those employees who are involved in irregularities.

The Chief Minister also said that there is no need to stand in queues to certify the fitness of autos and commercial vehicles as it will be decentralized.

"I have told officials to give a list of works for which people used to come. After that it will be completely decentralized," Mr Kejriwal stated.

The Chief Minister also said that specific cases related to complaints of irregularities will be looked into and strict action will be taken against the guilty officials.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot.
