NEW DELHI: A member of the Tillu Tajpuriya gang, identified as Manjeet alias Dada, was arrested in Sarojini Nagar following a brief exchange of fire for killing the member of the rival Gogi gang in Alipur. One pistol with three live cartridges, one stolen motorcycle, and one mobile phone were recovered from his possession, police said.

On March 28, Karan Thapa, a known history-sheeter and active member of the Gogi gang, was shot by unidentified assailants on motorcycles in the Nehru Enclave area of Alipur. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Initial investigations linked Thapa’s murder to the ongoing rivalry between the Gogi gang and the Tillu Tajpuriya gang, two notorious criminal syndicates operating across Delhi and Haryana. Manjeet, Neeraj, and Himanshu, affiliated with the Tillu Tajpuriya gang, were identified as the shooters.

Himanshu, who had carried out a prior reconnaissance of the area, was arrested earlier. Meanwhile, the main shooters, Manjeet and Neeraj, remained absconding until this recent breakthrough.
