BELGAUM: Abdul Azim Ladsahab Telgi the younger brother of multicrore stamp paper scam kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi has termed allegations levelled against him by Khanapur TP members Narayan Mayekar and Sunita Mayekar as baseless and far from truth.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Telgi said that the suicide threat of Mayekar couple if no action is initiated against him is nothing but a plan to divert attention from the allegation on the couple that they have illegally sold 2 acres of the total 9 acres 12 gunta agricultural land belonging to the Narayan Masekar family at Vidyanagar at Khanapur town. Since Mayekar family is close to his family, Telgi said that Mayekar couple had levelled such an allegation thinking that they could avoid the possible CBI inquiry against them.

Telgi said that Masekar family has held him as a true and lawful General Power of Attorney holder of their agricultural land. Telagi who was the vice president of Khanapur TP in 2002 said that Mayekar has cheated a few people by illegally selling 2 acres of land that belonged to Masekar claiming that the land belonged to him and was not agricultural.

The members of the Masekar family also upheld reasons tabled by Telagi at the conference.
