BELGAUM:  The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) members burnt the effigy of Karnataka Human Rights Commission Chairman S R Nayak and the Management Committee of the society due to their alleged insult to the ‘Nadageete’ during a function held at R L Law College on Saturday.

The society had organised a function to inaugurate the Human Rights Commission and Moot Court on the college where SHRC Chairman S R Nayak was the chief guest. The college had played ‘Nadageete’ by an audio cassette for which no one stood up, they said.

Protesting against the incident, the agitators burnt an effigies at Rani Chennamma Circle urging the government to frame a criminal case against Nayak and the committee.
